The Best Under 40 Award from the National Asian Pacific American Bar Association, a national bar with 50,000 attorneys, honors recipients who are talented individuals within the legal community under the age of 40 who have achieved prominence and distinction in their fields of endeavor—be it the practice of law, academia, business, civic and charitable affairs, the judiciary, or politics—and who have demonstrated a strong commitment to Asian American Pacific Islander civic or community affairs. Hundreds of applicants submit a request, fewer than 15 are chosen each year.

AABANY Co-VP of Programs and Operations shared her knowledge and experience at the 2022 NAPABA Convention in Las Vegas. She spoke on the panel "Mind Over Matter: Shifting Your Mindset from Self Employed to Business Owner," on November 3, offering sound tips and advice on the challenges and rewards of wearing many hats as a solo and small firm practitioner -- lawyer, counselor, advocate, entrepreneur.

The New York State Bar Association presented Innovation Awards to three bar associations at a ceremony the Bar Center in Albany.
The Asian American Bar Association of New York tackled the rise in anti-Asian violence in New York. The Asian-American association created a task force on the issue, which recommended advocacy, research, and education. Attorney Leong accepted the award as Vice President of Programs & Operations.

Beatrice Leong, in her capacity as Membership Director, organized the Asian American Bar Association of New York's Founders' Day and 32nd Anniversary Event. The first female governor of New York, Kathy Hochul came to show support to AABANY and met with members of the Board.
